NHKの「マッサン」のエリーさんのインタビューを、ＮＨＫにありました。
An actress from the United States is living her dream - in Japan.
Charlotte Kate Fox is the first non-Japanese to star in the NHK morning drama, a TV tradition that dates back to 1963. She spoke to Miki Yamamoto about her life and work.
インタビューでは、
「マッサン」の撮影を終了しての感想、
「疲れた～」、そりゃあ、そうだと思います。
彼女用の脚本は、日本語、ローマ字、英語と、厚いもの。
初め日本語まったくできなかったのに、あれだけの日本語のセリフを、
こなせるとは、すごい。
ただ、演じることに関する、感想は、言語は違えど、
通じるものがあるってところでしょうか。
ただ、一番すご、って思ったのは、
次の仕事、ブロードウェイのシカゴ！？！？！
シカゴ、ロンドンで見て、すごい体のボリュームに驚きましたが、
（映画と舞台は、ボリューム感がまったく違う）
ミュージカル系女優さんは、あこがれるところ、マドンナも映画版のシカゴに出たがってたと、
聞いた事が。
とにかく、なんだか、不思議な人ですね。

奈良の薬用植物 Herbal Remedies [NHK]
めったにみないのですけど、NHKの英語のサイトみてみたら、
こんなのあったので。
奈良には、長年伝統的な、植物が、薬として用いられて、それを生産してきた歴史が、
確かにあるかも。漫画とか歴史物語には、薬っていえば、植物の葉や根を使って、
病気や傷を治してきたものね。こういうのも、海外なら、
修道院が、守ってきてるのを、守らないといけないねえ、日本も。やっぱ、政治、政策って大事なんだなあ。
ああ、この世には、消えていくものが多いこと、あえて動かないと。
ああ、無常～
People in Japan's ancient capital have a long history of growing plants used in traditional herbal medicine. But production has fallen off in recent years. Now, the local government is trying to revitalize the industry by branding the locally grown herbs.
奈良の説明
Nara was once the capital of Japan in ancient times.
The famous Todaiji Temple was built here in the eighth century. It served as a repository for medicines from all over Asia. Today, the temple offers an herbal bath said to be effective against fatigue.
奈良の現代
Nara Prefecture is still a center of medicine, with 74 pharmaceutical companies.
持ち上がってる問題
But the area of land used to grow medicinal herbs is one third what it was 15 years ago. Farmers are aging, and there has been an influx of inexpensive herbs from China 中国からの安価なのの流入と、その植物を作る方々の高齢化が原因
それで、奈良県は動いたと。
The prefectural government is taking the problem seriously. Two years ago, it established a team to revive the industry. Team leader Yasuhiro Hashimoto says the emphasis must be on quality, through a focus on every stage of the process, from growing to finished product.
それで、その動きとしては、その薬用植物（ハーブ）の使用方法を広げないとってことで、
イタリアン レストランのシェフの助けを仰いでいて、研究中。「奈良産」の何かブランドでるといいね。面白そうだ。

Locally-grown herbs are also being used in cosmetic products. Under the government's initiative, the words "Made in Nara" are displayed on the label with the aim of making a brand out of herbs from the prefecture.
